If you’re like most people, you probably use your Amazon Fire Tablet to access the internet, watch TV shows and movies, and play games. But there are a few things you can’t do on your Amazon Fire Tablet without a download. For example, you can’t use the tablet as a phone or use it to listen to music or podcasts. But that’s not the only thing you can’t do on your Amazon Fire Tablet without a download. You can’t download apps. That’s right, if you want to use your Amazon Fire Tablet as an app-enabled device, you need to get an app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. And that’s not all that hard to do. All you need is an Amazon Kindle account and an Amazon Kindle device (or an iPad). Once you have those things set up, all you need to do is find an app that will let you download onto your tablet. There are many different apps available in both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, so it really depends on what kind of user interface (UI) your app prefers. But we’ll give some tips on how to find and download apps onto your Amazon Fire Tablet below:

  1. Search for “Amazon Kindle” in Google Play or “Apple App Store” on your device’s home screen and look for apps that match what type of user interface (UI) they prefer - for example, if they want an app with a simple interface, they’ll search for “Google Play” while if they want an app with more features, they’ll search for “Apple App Store.”
  2. Once found, tap on the “download” button next to the app in question and wait until it downloads onto your device - usually this will take about 10 minutes or so!
  3. Once downloaded onto your device, open up the app and start using it!

First, find the “Appstore” on the home screen under the “Home” tab.

The Appstore is organized into several sections at the top. The main “Home” tab includes a bunch of suggestions. You can tap “Categories” to get more specific.

Select an app or a game to see more information about it. Here, you can tap “Get” to begin downloading.

A pop-up will tell you what the app needs to access. If you agree with the permissions, tap “Download.”

When the app is done installing, you can tap “Open” to launch it. Apps are also automatically added to the home screen.
